Take a five-minute mental and emotional inventory

Mental Acuity in vegetation management

I shared this message at Thanksgiving but it holds true for Christmas, too! It’s a wonderful time of the year that is most often filled with family and friends.

Please consider just how mentally and emotionally distracted our fellow owners and teammates are this week and next as we face a shortened work week and the excitement of the holiday. Please take a few moments each morning, before you start the day, and prepare yourself and your people to be focused and ready for the work in front of you.

It can be as simple as a five-minute mental and emotional inventory:

  • Am I anxious or excited today?
  • Have I changed anything in my routine or preparation that might cause issues now or later?
  • Are my fellow workers focused on working safely and productively today?
  • Am I able to perform as expected? If not what’s missing?

Make a difference in someone’s safety today . . . be bold about caring!
