Operating Principle: Being Honest

Posted by Eric Sampson, Regional Vice President on Aug 6, 2018 10:56:57 AM

Wikipedia says “Honesty refers to a facet of moral character and connotes positive and virtuous attributes such as integrity, truthfulness, straightforwardness, including straightforwardness of conduct, along with the absence of lying, cheating, theft, etc. Honesty also involves being trustworthy, loyal, fair, and sincere.”

Our company is truly built on our core values and honesty exudes from our pores. We are human and, therefore, not perfect. However, as you read the definition above, think about how important all of those characteristics of honesty are in our day-to-day operations. Would we have grown significantly without having some difficult, honest discussions? Would we be known as having a culture of integrity without expressing our concerns to our customers in an honest, straightforward manner? Can we achieve great safety results without being truthful to ourselves and our teammates? Are we sincere in our desire to take care of each other and treat each other with respect?

I encourage you all to have the courage to be honest at all times and take time today to celebrate our accomplishments and thank those around you for their commitment to being honest teammates.  It is who we are.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of the team.
